このように社会心理学は人間の社会的行動を広範に扱うが、それゆえに、力点の置き方や方法の点で異なりを示すとはいえ、同じように乱交の社会的行動をその対象としている多くの学問領域、エッチ、社会学、文化人類学、言語学、地理学、宗教学あるいは歴史学などと交差する学問領域である。したがって、各学問領域間の学際的協力が望まれる分野でもある。
