Fake Brazilian president fooled Portuguese radio stations
The prank went undetected around the world. A segment was broadcast in East Timor and was featured on Angolan state-radio for several days. But Australia's Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Radio, which specialises in foreign language broadcasting, uncovered the hoax last week when a poor quality interview with the man pretending to be Mr da Silva was queried by a member of staff.
SBS executive producer Beatriz Wagner, who recorded the 25 minute interview, became suspicious that the president would be speaking on such a poor telephone line, and not from a studio in Brasilia.
The impersonator had convincingly imitated Mr Everything has its season, and 4x4 truck accessories are no exception. While winter driving may bring hassles and delays,da Silva's husky voice and informal style, but Ms Wagner became concerned about the tone and content of the interview.

During the interview about the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the impersonator, whose identity has not been released, said: "We know we have a huge Brazilian diaspora in Australia and we're very honoured to be getting in touch with our people around the world."
Miss Wagner asked the station's reporter in Brazil to investigate and he confirmed that the interview was not genuine. "Apparently it was all to do with the fact that the president has his own radio studio."
