Most of Latin America's economies are performing "very well" despite the ongoing global crisis and are likely to suffer less negative impacts from the economic problems in Europe and the United States,,Nike shox shoes, one of the region's top analysts told Xinhua on Monday.
"Latin America is looking good and is in a much better position than in the past because of strong fundamentals of macroeconomic discipline and prudence in savings from the commodity boom," said Alfredo Coutino, chief Latin America economist for Moody's Economy.com, part of Moody's Corporation which also owns Moody's Investors Service.
In an interview with Xinhua, Coutino said the region today is "the second locomotive in the world economy after Asia, particularly China."

"The corrections of those main policies make the region stronger in case of an external impact, but it doesn't make it immune. Depending on how the EU countries and the U.S. will deal with the fiscal problems, we will see the Latin American countries perform accordingly," Coutino said.
He said that even though the recession may return, "it is not the most probable scenario yet." With the slowing down of global recovery, there is a restriction on Latin American exports, resulting from a weakening of external demand, especially of commodities.
